Six is mostly about getting results right and picking up the odd exact score. Here’s how to do both, plus tips for the other weekly games that live under Six.
How Six scores
- Exact score: 5 points.
- Right result (home win, draw or away win): 2 points.
- Double-up: one match a week counts double, 10 or 4.
Full rules are in How to play.
Predicting scores
- Get the result right first. Exact scores are rare; results are where most of your points come from.
- Keep scores realistic. 1–0, 2–1, 1–1 and 2–0 are the most common Premier League scores. A 4–3 is fun but almost never lands.
- Match the score to the gap. A narrow favourite: 1–0 or 2–1. A big favourite at home: 2–0 or 3–1.
- Think about goals, not just winners. Two attacking sides with leaky defences suit 2–1 or 2–2; two cautious sides suit 1–0 or 0–0.
Draws
About a quarter of Premier League matches end level, but they’re hard to call. Save draw predictions for genuinely even games, and when you do predict one, 1–1 is the most common draw by far.
The double-up
Put it on the match where you’re surest of the result, not the one where you fancy a long-shot exact score. A right result there is 4 points; a miss is 0 either way. The prediction form points out the safest double-up, the match where the model is surest of the result.
Playing a league
- Ahead? Predict the likely results. You win by not giving ground.
- Behind late on? Differ from the leader on one or two matches where an upset is realistic. Copying them can’t close the gap.
- Don’t forget to predict. A blank scores nothing, and the deadline is the FPL deadline.
Scorers
Back up to five outfield players; each one who scores is a point.
- Penalty takers get extra chances most players don’t.
- Strikers on big, attacking sides facing weak defences are the safest picks.
- Check he’ll start. A substitute has far fewer minutes to score.
- Spread across matches, so one quiet game doesn’t sink your week.
Captain Call
Pick one player; he scores double his Fantasy points. The same thinking as an FPL captain applies: he must play, ideally takes penalties, and has a kind fixture. See Captaincy. You can pick anyone, not just players in your FPL squad.
Five-a-Side
Five players: one goalkeeper and at least one defender, midfielder and forward, within £35.0m and at most two from one club.
- Average is £7.0m a player. One premium usually means a cheap goalkeeper or defender.
- A cheap goalkeeper on a strong side is good value: clean sheets and saves add up.
- Defenders who make lots of tackles and blocks can pick up defensive contribution points even without a clean sheet.
- Use your two-per-club allowance on a side with a great fixture.
Season picks
Champions, top four, relegation and top scorer. You can change them until the Gameweek 19 deadline, so there’s no rush: the table settles a lot by then. The projection on the page adds up the expected points from every match left.
On Pitchline: each game’s page shows hints from the same goals model as the rest of the site: likely scores and the safest double-up on Six, likeliest scorers on Scorers, and the biggest threats on Captain Call. Hints, not certainties.
