How the rankings work

Rankings list the FPL players Pitchline rates most highly right now. It’s Pitchline’s view, not Fantasy’s official ranking. Filter by position and price to find the best options in your budget, then open a player for his form, fixtures and availability.

How players are rated

The list sorts by expected points when it’s available: a forecast of each player’s FPL points next gameweek, from a model trained on every player’s gameweek scores since 2016/17. Otherwise it uses the Pitchline score, which adds up:

• form and points per million,
• expected goal involvements, the quality of chances a player gets or creates,
• FPL’s ICT index (influence, creativity and threat),
• an easy run over the next five fixtures,

and takes points off when a player is flagged as doubtful or out.

How you play

The Safe, Mix and Bold buttons tilt the list. Safe favours players most managers already own, which protects your rank. Bold favours players few people own, which is how you climb when they come off. Mix sits in between.

Use it as a shortlist

The top of the list isn’t a must-buy. Expected points cover only the next gameweek and don’t yet drop for injury flags, so check team news and fixtures, then compare two or three names before you move. Metrics explained covers every column.
